Sodium Lactate hardens cold process soap while minimizing shrinkage associated with curing. It also offers a smoother texture to the bar. It's derived from carbohydrate sugars and purified lactic acid to specifications for the cosmetic industry. This is a 60% solution of Sodium Lactate and water (40%). Commonly used in cold process soap. Water Soluble
INCI: Sodium Lactate, Aqua (Water).
Blend amount as desired into formula.
Recommended usage:
CP and HP Soap: 2-10%
This goes into every CP soap that I make. It is amazing for hardening soap. As an added bonus, it prevents my soap from shrinking as it cures. As a comparison, my CP soap made without Sodium Lactate cured to a final weight of 3-4oz.With the Sodium Lactate, my soap is 4-5oz.
Don't add more than 1tsp PPO or your soap will be crumbly.
This goes into almost every soap i make, CP or HP, works wonders for hardening soap, but it is also fabulous for skin, aging skin as well!
I have a problem with this sodium lactate my soap becomes soft every time i use it and I dont know why...
